The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine held a large-scale technological hackathon “MACHINE OFFENSE 2.0”, in which more than 50 teams of Ukrainian and foreign engineers and developers made it to the finals with presentations of innovative solutions for the country’s defense.
The hackathon focused on the challenges facing the Defense Forces: countering guided aerial bombs (UABs), which are difficult to intercept with existing air defense systems, and countering fiber-optic drones that are resistant to electronic warfare.
The FENEK team with its development, the FENEK sound-metric acoustic system, was named one of the winners of the challenge “Sensors and monitoring devices” by the hackathon jury.
In total, the 12 winning teams were awarded grants for the development of their projects totaling $150,000. In the future, the teams will receive support from the Ministry of Defense to support and implement their developments.
